Warning: (scenes of violence.)

On September 30, 2006, two unlikely groups of people crossed paths in the snow-capped Himalayas: one seeking freedom, the other adventure. A brutal murder threw them together, changing their lives forever. A group of international mountain climbers attempting to climb Mt. Cho Oyu witnessed and recorded Chinese border police as they opened fire on a group of unarmed Tibetan pilgrims attempting to escape to Nepal. This true story, using original footage, reenactments and interviews with witnesses and survivors, documents the killing of 17-year-old nun Kelsang Namtso, and the wounding of two other Tibetans. Every year groups of young Tibetans risk their lives illegally crossing the rugged Himalayas hoping to make it to Nepal to meet their spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, or to study in India without political interference.
